EXPO 2022 Feature – Hot Tapping & Line Stopping Showcase
As part of our continued commitment to innovation and technical excellence, WellFab proudly showcased our specialized Hot Tapping and Line Stopping services at EXPO 2022. This opportunity allowed us to demonstrate the advanced methods we use to perform pipeline modifications and system maintenance without interrupting live operations.

Block 16N – Downtown Toronto (Regent Park)
WellFab is leading a major mechanical infrastructure project at Block 16N in Regent Park, delivering a complete scope that includes the construction and installation of a modern substation, district heating and cooling systems, and advanced Energy Transfer Stations (ETS). This project supports efficient energy distribution and temperature control throughout the development while integrating seamlessly with the existing district energy network.

ZooShare Anaerobic Digester & Biogas Plant – Toronto Zoo
WellFab successfully completed a state-of-the-art 500kW biogas plant at the Toronto Zoo in just six months, delivering a major step forward in sustainable energy production. This facility is designed to supply approximately one-third of the Zoo’s electricity needs while significantly reducing environmental impact by cutting CO₂ emissions by an estimated 10,000 tonnes.

Markham District Energy Centre Project
At WellFab, we take pride in delivering precision-driven mechanical solutions for largescale energy infrastructure. Our work on the Markham District Energy Centre reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and performance at every stage of the project. From equipment installation to final commissioning, our scope is designed to support a highefficiency, reliable energy system built to the highest industry standards.

York University Markham Campus – Energy Transfer Station (Ets)
Enterprise Blvd & University Blvd, Markham, Ontario
WellFab Services Ltd. proudly leads this landmark mechanical project at York University Markham Campus, constructing a state-of-the-art Energy Transfer Station (ETS) in the Phase 1 building's ground floor mechanical room. This central facility will provide efficient and reliable thermal energy distribution for years to come.

H&W Vendome – Energy Transfer Station (Ets) Construction
9 Clegg Road, Markham, Ontario
WellFab Services Ltd. completed the construction and mechanical installation of an Energy Transfer Station (ETS) located in the P1 MDE ETS mechanical room at the H&W Vendome development. This project supports the building’s energy distribution by delivering efficient heating, cooling, and domestic hot water through a fully integrated system.

Remington Hs1 – Energy Transfer Station (Ets) Construction
25 Water Walk Drive, Markham, Ontario
WellFab Services Ltd. successfully completed the general construction and mechanical installation of an Energy Transfer Station (ETS) at the P1 ETS mechanical room within the Remington HS1 Development. This project plays a critical role in supporting the building’s heating and cooling infrastructure by delivering efficient and reliable thermal energy transfer throughout the facility.

Delpark Homes
WellFab is proud to serve as the general contractor for the installation of a state-of-the-art 600KW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit at Delpark Homes in Oshawa. This project showcases our ability to execute highly technical mechanical and electrical work while ensuring seamless integration into an active residential infrastructure. The system is designed to provide on-site electricity generation while simultaneously recovering heat for optimal building performance and long-term operational savings.

252 Sackville
This project delivered a fully integrated boiler and chiller plant designed for reliable, high-efficiency performance. From equipment installation and live system tie-ins to electrical, controls, and differential pressure management, every component was engineered for stability and long-term maintainability.

6" Line stop
During a routine pump service, the client discovered that key shutoff valves had failed—putting the entire heating-glycol loop at risk. WellFab mobilized a live-work solution: two 6″ line stops were installed to create a safe, controlled isolation window, allowing removal and replacement of the faulty valves without draining the system. The plant stayed online, product stayed in the pipe, and the tie-in area remained stable and monitored from start to finish.

Leak Detection
A landmark multi-tower condominium development in downtown Toronto—each tower rising over 70 floors—relies on an extensive network of vertical risers to deliver heating, cooling, and domestic water to thousands of residents. With district-energy integration and deep-lake-water cooling forming part of the site’s mechanical strategy, the reliability of every riser system is essential to overall building performance, efficiency, and lifecycle sustainability.

Eaton 8" Hot top & 12" Line Stop"
During a routine pump service, the client discovered that key shutoff valves had failed—putting the entire heating-glycol loop at risk. WellFab mobilized a live-work solution: two 6″ line stops were installed to create a safe, controlled isolation window, allowing removal and replacement of the faulty valves without draining the system. The plant stayed online, product stayed in the pipe, and the tie-in area remained stable and monitored from start to finish.

14" Hot tap
Delivering a live 14″ hot tap on a glycol storage tank, WellFab created a new, code-compliant nozzle without draining or contaminating product. By planning for curved-shell geometry, variable wall thickness, and headspace management, we kept the system online—avoiding temporary tanks, product disposal, and restart risks—while producing a clean, documented tie-in that improves long-term reliability, serviceability, and compliance.
