Project Overview

WellFab successfully delivered a live 14″ hot tap on an active glycol storage tank, installing a new code-compliant nozzle without draining or contaminating the product.

Scope & Execution

• Engineered for curved-shell geometry and variable wall thickness
• Managed limited headspace for safe, controlled cutting
• Installed a new 14″ nozzle while the tank remained fully operational
• Zero drain-down and zero product loss

Project Impact

By keeping the system online, WellFab eliminated the need for temporary storage tanks, glycol disposal, and shutdown-related restart risks. The project delivered a clean, permanent, and fully documented tie-in—improving long-term reliability, serviceability, and regulatory compliance while protecting product integrity.
