Delpark Homes
WellFab is proud to serve as the general contractor for the installation of a state-of-the-art 600KW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit at Delpark Homes in Oshawa. This project showcases our ability to execute highly technical mechanical and electrical work while ensuring seamless integration into an active residential infrastructure. The system is designed to provide on-site electricity generation while simultaneously recovering heat for optimal building performance and long-term operational savings.

Project Overview
WellFab managed the complete delivery of this CHP system—from mechanical tie-ins to electrical commissioning—coordinating all disciplines to maintain schedule, safety, and technical compliance. The result is a robust, energy-efficient solution that enhances heating reliability, reduces energy costs, and supports Delpark Homes’ sustainability goals.

Key System Installations
At the core of the project is a high-performance 600KW CHP unit, installed and integrated seamlessly into the existing building systems. This unit simultaneously generates power and supplies recovered thermal energy for heating, significantly improving overall efficiency across the property.
Mechanical, Electrical & Control Systems Integration
WellFab completed all gas and water piping installations, ensuring precise routing, secure connections, and compliance with all mechanical and safety standards. The Energy Transfer Station (ETS) was fully outfitted with modern heat exchangers, pumps, and distribution equipment, enabling efficient heat transfer throughout the building.
Our electrical team executed all power distribution, control system wiring, automation integration, and commissioning activities required for reliable CHP operation. This included coordinating protective relays, control panels, sensor networks, and system communication to ensure stable, efficient, and safe performance.

Project Impact
The successful installation of this CHP system elevates Delpark Homes’ energy resilience, enhances operational efficiency, and reduces reliance on grid-supplied electricity. More than 12 WellFab professionals—including mechanical fitters, electricians, welders, technicians, engineers, and project coordinators—contributed to delivering this high-value energy infrastructure upgrade.
