Markham District Energy Centre Project

At WellFab, we take pride in delivering precision-driven mechanical solutions for largescale energy infrastructure. Our work on the Markham District Energy Centre reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and performance at every stage of the project. From equipment installation to final commissioning, our scope is designed to support a highefficiency, reliable energy system built to the highest industry standards.

Equipment Handling & Installation

Our team is responsible for the careful handling, placement, and installation of key
mechanical systems that power the facility:

Chiller Installation:
Installation of a 2,800-ton chiller (B/CH-4), including detailed piping, insulation, and system integration to support optimal performance.

Pump Systems:
Installation and alignment of the Chilled Water Pump (B/P-4A) and Condenser Water Pump (B/P-4B), ensuring seamless operation and long-term reliability.

Cooling Towers:
Precision installation of 3,000-ton cooling towers (B/CT-107, 108, and 109),
complete with structural support, mechanical connections, and system integration.

5 kV Switchgear Integration:
Coordinated installation and connection of switchgear sections into the existing electrical infrastructure for a safe and reliable power interface.

Piping Installation

Our scope includes the installation of all related piping systems, supported by:
• Pressure testing
• System flushing and cleaning
• Quality checks to ensure operational readiness
This process ensures every line is prepared for safe, efficient performance from day one.

Electrical Coordination

We work closely alongside electrical teams to support the installation and connection of all
components related to the chiller, pumps, cooling towers, and switchgear. This coordination helps maintain system efficiency, performance, and safety across the facility.
