2 × 8″ HOT TAPS - Upper Mechanical room
Project Overview
This project involved two 8″ live hot taps inside an active upper mechanical room. WellFab planned the work around the available access, equipment positioning requirements, system operating condition, and the need to maintain continuity within the building mechanical system.
Both connections were completed through a controlled sequence of valve setup, tapping-equipment alignment, live cutting, coupon recovery, monitoring, and final restoration.
Technical Execution

Project Impact
Performing the work inside an upper mechanical room required careful coordination of access, equipment placement, and live-system controls. The two completed hot taps provided new connection points without taking the active mechanical system out of service.
The project demonstrates WellFab’s capability to execute large-diameter hot tap work in operating commercial facilities where space, access, and service continuity all shape the field plan.
