10″ HOT TAP – TONISCO VALVE SOLUTION
Project Overview
This project involved a 10 ″ live hot tap on an active pipeline using a Tonisco hot tapping valve system. WellFab planned and executed the connection to establish a new branch point while maintaining the pipeline in service.
The work sequence included valve installation, equipment positioning and alignment, controlled live cutting, coupon recovery, pressure monitoring, and final verification of the completed connection.
Technical Execution
✓ 10″ live hot tap completed on an active pipeline
✓ Tonisco hot tapping valve installed for the new branch connection
✓ Tapping equipment positioned and aligned before cutting
✓ Controlled live cutting completed while the line remained in service
✓ System conditions monitored to maintain pressure integrity

Project Impact
Completing the connection live allowed the existing pipeline to remain operational while the new branch point was installed. This avoided the disruption associated with a conventional shutdown and drain-down and reduced the additional work required for system refill, restart, and recommissioning.
The project demonstrates WellFab’s ability to integrate Tonisco hot tapping valve technology into a controlled field execution plan for live pipeline modifications.
