ABOUT US
We build for success
WellFab is a Toronto-based mechanical contractor specializing in complex piping and live-system work—keeping facilities online while we add capacity, create isolation points, or complete retrofits. From energy transfer stations and district-energy networks to high-rise mechanical rooms and industrial utilities, we plan thoroughly, protect uptime, and execute with precision so tenants and operations aren’t disrupted. The result: clean tie-ins, documented installs, and on-schedule handovers without unnecessary shutdowns.
With 25+ years of field leadership, our ICI team—licensed engineers, certified technicians, and seasoned project managers—works to TSSA-recognized procedures with rigorous QA/QC. We engineer every step: method statements, isolation strategies for live work, permit coordination, contingency planning, and site-specific safety plans. Our scopes include hot tapping, line stopping, pipe freezing, thermowell insertion, leak detection, and full mechanical construction with shop-built spools and field-ready assemblies. Expect traceable quality—ITPs, weld maps, pressure-test records, photos—and a clean turnover package you can trust.

What we do
We build, modify, and maintain critical piping and mechanical systems for ICI clients—without unnecessary shutdowns. From design-assist to commissioning, we plan isolations, engineer procedures, fabricate in-shop, and execute in the field so occupied buildings and active plants stay online. Our work spans energy transfer stations, district-energy networks, high-rise mechanical rooms, utilities, and complex retrofit tie-ins—delivered safely, precisely, and on schedule.
Our core services include Mechanical Construction (design-assist through commissioning), hot tapping, line stopping for temporary isolation, pipe freezing to avoid full drain-downs, live thermowell insertion for monitoring and metering, multi-method leak detection (pressure testing, electroacoustic, tracer gas, correlation, aerial thermal), and certified engineering & fabrication with shop-built spools and field-ready assemblies. Every scope follows TSSA-recognized procedures with rigorous QA/QC—ITPs, weld maps, pressure-test records, photos, and clean turnover packages—so you get verifiable results and a smooth handover.
Relationship
We believe trust is built through collaboration. By working closely with our clients, we deliver tailored solutions that foster long-term partnerships.
Experience
Backed by certified technicians, licensed engineers, and seasoned project managers, we bring proven expertise to complex challenges across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors.
Accountability
We stand behind every project with transparency, safety, and a commitment to doing it right the first time.

Our Customers
We serve ICI clients across Ontario—district-energy and utility providers, municipalities and public agencies, REITs and property managers, hospitals and campuses, manufacturers, and GC/mechanical partners. Whether it’s a tower, a campus, or a plant, they share the same expectation: keep networks operational with zero downtime while upgrades, tie-ins, or repairs move forward. They choose WellFab because we plan rigorously, execute live work safely, and hand over documented results—on time, on budget, and to spec.
Our customers trust us for work that can’t afford disruptions: energy transfer stations and district-energy expansions, high-rise mechanical room retrofits, valve additions/replacements, new branches and isolation points, leak investigations, and time-critical repairs. We bring live-system methods—hot tapping, line stopping, pipe freezing, and live thermowell insertion—plus certified engineering and fabrication to shorten the critical path. Every scope runs to TSSA-recognized procedures with rigorous QA/QC, so owners and operators receive clean tie-ins, pressure-test records, weld maps, photos, and as-builts they can rely on.
Our Process
Engineering Without Interruption—a predictable, documented path from first walk-through to clean handover.
Consultation & Planning
We align on goals, constraints, and uptime requirements. Site walk-throughs, drawing reviews, and a risk-aware schedule define the isolation strategy (hot tap, line stop, or pipe freeze) and sequence the work to keep occupants online.
Engineering & Design
Calculations, method statements, and material/valve selection tailored to your media, temperature, and pressures. We prepare required procedures and permits (including TSSA/ESA where applicable) and set up prefabrication so installation is fast and safe.
Execution & Delivery
A site-specific safety plan and live-work controls guide every step. We fabricate in-shop, install in the field, perform clean cutting with coupon capture, pressure-test, commission, and restore service—with minimal disruption to operations.
Ongoing Support
You receive a complete QA/QC turnover—ITPs, weld maps, test certificates, photos, and as-builts—plus briefings and support for maintenance, performance checks, and future tie-ins.

Quality & Certification
At WellFab, safety, quality, and regulatory excellence are at the core of everything we do. Our team operates under industry-recognized certifications and follows strict mechanical codes to ensure every project is delivered with precision and accountability.
